Stuart W. Pease, formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida and Watertown, New York, died peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2021 under the care of his loving family and Jefferson County Hospice.  He was born on September 29, 1937 in Elmira, New York.  The son of the late Willis and Lola (Porter) Pease, Stuart graduated from Thomas A Edison High School in Elmira, New York.

He married Carol L. Hugg on February 21, 1958 in Elmira.  Carol died on June 30, 2020.

Mr. Pease is survived by his children:  Cindy Johnson (David), Calcium; Daniel Pease, Massena; Vicki Martin (Gary Baker), Watertown; William Pease, Orlando, Florida; and Melissa Millan, East Greenbush, NY. He had 10 grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Kristy Trimper, Brian Johnson, Emily Pease, Joseph Pease, Derek Martin, Jason Corbin, Morgan Baker, Noah Millan and Mason Millan. Mr. Pease also had 10 great-grandchildren:  Jacob Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Hannah Trimper, Aidan Trimper, Lillian Belle Johnson, Liam Martin, Emma Corbin, Keenan Corbin, Sebastian Booth, and Fiona Booth.  He is also survived by siblings: Dale Pease, Zephyr Hills, Florida; Carol Miller, Elmira, NY; Gary Pease, Clearwater, Florida; and sister-in-law Nancy Murphy, Venice, Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Eastside Church in Punta Gorda, Florida, and previously the First Baptist Church of Watertown.

Stuart was devoted to singing in barbershop quartets and choruses, including internationally recognized comedy quartet Cornerstone.  He enjoyed time with family and friends at Wilson’s Campgrounds, Hyde Lake, Theresa; discovered by Mr. and Mrs. Pease 40 years ago.

A celebration of life for Stuart and Carol Pease will be scheduled for this summer by the family.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or a charity of one’s choice.
